Es ist nicht so, dass einer von uns hineinwollte, erst recht nicht bei solch garstigen Wellen, aber näher heran wollten wir trotzdem, wollten sehen, wie das Wasser schäumt, wie die Wellen übereinander herfallen. Denn das ist beinahe so beruhigend wie in ein Feuer zu starren.

But now it was time for the water. It's not that one of us wanted to get in, especially not while those nasty waves were raging, but we still wanted to get closer, wanted to see how the water foamed, how the waves subdue each other. Because it's almost as calming as staring into a bonfire.
