Mara bot an, für eine Weile die Kinder zu nehmen – das bedeutete, Niara und ich hatten ein wenig Zeit zu zweit. Zwar war das gestrige Flamingoreiten im Brunnen nicht so erfolgreich, aber wenn man schon im Abendlicht draußen herumschleicht, kann man auch ein Photoshooting machen. Wobei Photoshooting zu viel des Wortes ist, wenn man die zwei, drei Bilder meint. Egal, da bin ich also am #Sagenbrunnen.🇬🇧Yesterday’s flamingo ride in the fountain wasn’t that successful, but if one sneaks around the corners in the evening light, one can also do a photo shoot. Although photoshooting is too much of the word if you mean the two or three photos. Wisst ihr, was heute ist? Wisst ihr’s? Nein? Heute ist Internationaler Flamingotag. 🦩🦩 Und als ich das meiner kleinen Swede erzählte, gab es kein anderes Thema mehr. Es wurde beraten, es wurde gezankt, es wurde abgestimmt – wir wollten zur Feier des Tages zu dem sonderbaren Figurenbrunnen in der Menschensiedlung wandern und dort unsere Flamingos zu Wasser lassen.Aber dann kam es knüppeldick: Wenige Minuten vor unserem Eintreffen – und ich schwöre, der Weg war elendig weit – wurde der Brunnen abgestellt. Trockengelegt. Aus die Maus. Die Enttäuschung war mindestens so groß wie das Entsetzten. Aber Swede wäre keine Flamingoreiterin, wenn sie nicht doch irgendwo etwas Wasser fände. Und tatsächlich war im Mund einer der Figuren noch ein Pfützchen Wasser, genug, um den Flamingo hineinzulassen.Eins ist mal klar: Das Flamingoreiten wird nachgeholt! Trotzdem euch allen einen wundervollen Flamingotag. 🦩Und wenn ihr mal richtige Flamingos sehen wollt, schaut doch einmal im #zooneuwied vorbei.🇬🇧Do you know what day it is? Do you know? No? Well, today is International Flamingo Day. 🦩🦩 When I told my little Swede, there was no other topic. There was discussion, there was bickering, there was a voting - to celebrate the day, we wanted to hike to the strange figurine fountain in the human settlement and release our flamingos into the water.But a few minutes before we arrived - and I swear, the way was miserably long - the fountain was turned off. The disappointment was at least as great as the dismay. But Swede wouldn’t be a flamingo rider if she didn’t find some water somewhere. And there was a puddle of water in the mouth of one of the figures left, by far enough to let the flamingo in.For sure: flamingo riding will be rescheduled! O, das habe ich euch ja noch gar nicht erzählt! Hallo, hier ist eure Swede, und bevor mir die Sache über den Kopf wächst, wollte ich euch noch sagen, dass wir auch dieses Jahr bei der alljährlichen Sonnenblumenchallenge mitmachen. Und damit wenigstens eine monströs Große dabei ist, haben wir gleich 30 Stück angebaut. Und mittlerweile sehen sie schon wie richtige Blumen aus. 🌻🇬🇧Oh, I haven’t told you yet! 😺 Hallo, hier ist eure bezaubernde Swede...🐱 Und euer Jelly!😺 Weil Paps mal wieder als Baugutachter ranmusste, haben Jelly und ich uns einen sonnigen Platz in einem Café in der Altstadt gesucht. Und wie wir da so saßen, kam plötzlich eine Cafémitarbeiterin und stellte uns einen riesigen Windbeutel und einen Kaffee auf den Tisch. Einfach so. Vermutlich haben wir so mitleiderregend dreingeschaut, dass ihr keine andere Möglichkeit blieb, uns mit Leckerli aufzuheitern. As we were sitting there, a café employee suddenly came over and put a huge cream puff and a coffee on the table. Just like that. Um Kosten zu sparen, wurde mir gesagt, ich solle die nächsten sechs Monate die Bauabnahme machen. Wie ich mir erklären ließ, geht es bei der Bauabnahme nicht darum, jemandem das Bauen abzunehmen oder darum, jemandem den Bau abzunehmen, nein, es geht darum den Bau abzunehmen. Das hieß, ich sollte prüfen, ob das Haus alle Ecken hat, die es haben soll; ob alle Löcher für die späteren Fenster drinnen sind; ob alle Rohre am richtigen Fleck und alle Durchgänge an Deck sind. Als ich auf den eklatanten Mangel des fehlenden Daches hinwies, wurde ich mit rollenden Augen des Amtes enthoben. Frechheit. Das ist der Dank dafür, wenn man seine Arbeit gewissenhaft verrichtet.🇬🇧To save costs, I was told to do the building inspection in the next six months. That meant I should check that the house had all the corners it was supposed to have; whether all the holes for the later windows are inside; whether all pipes are in the right place and all doors are spared out. Hallo, ihr Lieben, vorhin kamen die Kinder herbei und meinten, ich müsse mal wieder etwas malen, und weil sie es sich so in den Kopf gesetzt hatten, sollte ich unbedingt irgendwas mit »Pink« machen. Freilich kann man darüber streiten, ob »Pink« überhaupt eine zugelassene Farbe ist, aber davon wollten die Kleinen nichts hören; die wollten etwas Pinkfarbenes auf dem Bild sehen.
