🇩🇪 Seit Niara dieses seltsame Geräusch hörte, war ihr ganz sonderbar zumute. Sie konnte nicht mehr sitzenbleiben, nein, sie musste wissen, was dieses Fiepen bedeutete. Und also ließ sie mit gebührendem Abstand am Bachlauf entlang, bis sie den Grund für’s jämmerliche Geräusch fand: Ein kleines Entlein.
Dieses Entlein saß im Wasser – das ist nicht ungewöhnlich für Schwimmvögel – und machte den Eindruck, als könne es nicht mehr heraus aus den Fluten. O weh. Niara wollte sofort helfen, ehe sie bemerkte, welch große Furcht ihr das Wasser einflößte. Drum bat sie mich, mit jeder mir gekannten Inbrunst, die Ente zu retten. Niara wollte nicht erleben, wie das kleine Entlein in den Fluten verginge.
Also kroch ich an das Ufer, reckte und streckte mich und reichte doch nicht heran. Eine andere Stelle musste gefunden werden. Plötzlich kam eine Welle und riss das Entlein mit. Sofort eilte ich nach und kurz vom großen Wasserfall bekam ich sie zu fassen.
Gerettet war die Ente. Und Niara war voller Glück, und so war es auch ich.
🇬🇧 Since Niara heard this strange noise, she felt very strange. She couldn't sit anymore, no, she had to know what that whining meant. And so she walked along the creek with a due distance until she found the reason for the pathetic noise: A little duckling.
This duckling was sitting in the water - which is not unusual for swimming birds - and gave the impression it couldn't get out of the water. Oh dear. Niara wanted to help immediately before she realized how afraid she was of all the water. So she asked me to save the duck, with every fervor she knew. Niara did not want to see the little duckling perish in the water.
So I crawled to the bank, stretched and stretched, and yet I couldn't get close enough. Another place had to be found. Suddenly a wave came and carried the duckling with it. I hurried after and briefly before the big waterfall came I got the duckling.
Phew, the duck was saved. And Niara was full of happiness, and so was I.
