Wer hätte geglaubt, dass wir mit liebenswerten Spinnen sprachen und in düstere Höhlen vordrangen und wildlodernde Flammen löschten und einen Flaschengeist fanden und mit jenem riesigen Biest nach Hause gehen würden, ein Biest, das sich zuletzt als armes, gequältes Geschöpf herausstellte? The anxious look carefully groped its way to the threatening shadow along the walls until it came to the fluffy end of a tail, soon found another end and a third one before the whole animal was discovered - a tree-high cheetah was sitting right at that spot, where the lamp swallowed a blue ghost just a moment ago.🐆 Gene! Is it you?👻 Gene? Who is this Gene you are talking about? Allow me to introduce myself: Jomo is my name.🐆 Nice to meet you. Forgive us the mistaking. We thought you were- oh, all of this is far beyond explainability. Anyway, have a nice day Jomo.👻 Aww, you- you want to leave that soon?🐆 We have been here for a very long time, dear Jomo. Now we have to go home.👻 Home - is it more beautiful there than in a castle?🐆 Well, it's warmer and less spider-draped with beds and pillows. We could set you free.👻 Noone is capable of.😺 Trust me, we can. I can. I could wish you to use my wish for yourself, and you may do what you want to - free yourself, take revenge, disappear forever, whatever you like. Piece of cake.👻 It doesn't work like that, sweetheart. Only you, my master, can make a wish!😸 Well, then I wish you are free!👻 If this is your wish, it may- wait! Do you really wanna do that? Just think how much good you could do with that wish - you may end all wars or satisfy hunger in the world, extinguish all suffering.😾 And abuse a enslaved being for that to come true? Or are you just one of the kind listening in instilled politeness until the chattering genie finally shut up and made the wish come true?😾 How can you say such mean things? Of course I want to know.👻 Forgive me, little Swede. It seems like the long time in the lamp made me a bit ruffled.😺 No need to apologize. But tell me why do you have to live in the lamp?👻 Well, it started with these furless monkeys. Do you know these bipeds? They call themselves humans... Oh, I just wanted to live by the side of Asali and my daughter; this is all I ever wanted. But these humans made me cursing myself.😼 But how could they make you live in a bottle? Ain't you stronger than hundreds of them?👻 I am, but what could someone like me do against humans' guile? They came in herdes, when they heard of beasts roaming the woods. We stared at the rising genie, glanced at each other with the certainty of one of those moments, when peril exceeds the tolerable - we wanted to flee. And the genie of the lamp spoke in the thunderous manner of an almighty creature.👻 Aaaah. I can breath at last. WhooOo was it? Who told me to appear?🙀 It- it was me, Mr. Ghost. Please d-d-o not harm Mom and Dad and Mneka. Das ist- das- das kann nicht sein.😺 Was ist es, Mama?😽 Bei der Großen Mutter, das ist die Wunderlampe.😸 Was ist eine Wunderlampe?🐆 Ein Gefäß aus Märchen und Sagen, in denen behauptet wird, in ihr lebte ein Geist, der in der Lage wäre, jeden Wunsch seines Besitzers zu erfüllen.😸 Jeden Wunsch? Wie geil ist das dann? Ich könnte mir also tausend Wünsche wünschen?🐆 Ich glaube nicht, Kleines. Wir reden von einem Märchen. Das ist ganz sicher nicht diese eine Wunderlampe. So etwas wie einen Wünsche erfüllenden Geist gibt es nicht.😸 Das werden wir gleich genau wissen.Das sagte Swede und öffnete die Lampe. Plötzlich stieg Rauch aus dem Innern auf, obwohl niemand die Lampe entzündete. Mehr und mehr Rauch quoll hervor, und gleich danach erklang ein Mordsgetöse, dass zu einem wahnhaften Gelächter ward. This is- this- that can't be.😺 What is it, mom?😽 That- this is the magic lamp.😸 What is a magic lamp?🐆 A vessel made of fairy tales and legends claiming a spirit lived in it, capable of fulfilling any wish of its owner.😸 Every wish? How cool is this? So I could wish for a thousand wishes?🐆 I don't think so, baby. We're talking about a fairy tale. It's definitely not that magic lamp. Die dreischwänzige Bestie von Caledonia – Teil 17🕗So viele Rätsel, so viele Fährden und endlich hielten wir den Lohn in den Pfot- Pfoooo. Verdammt, warum ging das Kackding nicht auf? Wie viele Prüfungen sollten uns noch auferlegt werden? Wie viele? Litten wir denn nicht genug?Mneka kam herbei, streifte mein Haupt zur Beruhigung und sagte, wir sollten nicht aufgeben. Denn jede Prüfung, die uns auferlegt, bestanden wir; gemeinsam würden wir auch die letzte bestehen. Wir sollten noch einmal über die Bedeutung der Artefakte beraten. Stand im Buch nicht geschrieben: »Niemals allein«? War das ein Hinweis auf die Zweizahl? Was, wenn beide etwas mit der Kiste zu tun hatten? Waren es womöglich-🐆 Schlüssel!😺 Schlüssel, Dad?🐆 Schlüssel! Seht doch – dort an der Kiste sind zwei Knöpfe, wie gemacht, um zwei Schlüssel anzubringen.😺 Du meinst also-Einst die Artefakte angebracht, hörten wir ein Knacken, wie man es hatte, wenn sich ein kleines Schloss an einer braunen Schatzkiste öffnete. Ja so klang es!🇬🇧The three-tailed beast of Caledonia - Part 17🕗So many riddles, so many odds to overcome and finally we kept the wages in our paa- paaaw- Damn it, why didn't that sh- chest can't be opened? How much more trials do we have to withstand? How many? Didn't we suffer enough?Mneka stroked my head for reassurance, and said we shouldn't give up. Because every trial imposed on us, we ultimately passed; together we would endure the last. We should deliberate again on the meaning of the artifacts. Wasn't it written in the book: "Never alone"? Was that a reference to the occurring in pairs? What if they both had something to do with the box? Maybe these were-🐆 Keys!😺 Keys, Dad?🐆 Keys! The three-tailed beast of Caledonia - Part 16🕢Everyone looked thoughtful, looked at the treasure chest, looked in the book, looked at the floor, and suddenly Niara looked up.😽 That's it: the rigid claw - what species has rigid claws?😺 It's us!😽 Exactly! Now see the letters in the ground - which words can be formed ou of it?😺 I know! Cheetah, right?😽 Seems like there are missing letters to create "cheetah". It has to be another word.😸 I know! In Greek they say »akin« and »onyx« - that means »rigid claw« in our tongue. The word is: AKINONYX!😽 Swede, watch out! In Latin ACINONYX is written with C.Suddenly a flame shot out of the ground, only a claw's width away from my daughter. Oh dear. 🔥😸 I'm such an idiot! In Latin they write ACINONYX with C.Swede got up, and when she entered all the letters, the floor trembled, the walls groaned and flame by flame disappeared - the way to the chest was clear!🇩🇪Die dreischwänzige Bestie von Caledonia – Teil 16🕢Ein jeder blickte nachdenklich drein; plötzlich sah Niara auf.😽 Natürlich! Die starre Kralle – sagt, welche Art hat starre Krallen?😺 Wir!😽 Richtig! Nun seht die Buchstaben im Boden – welche Worte lassen sich wohl bilden?😺 Ich weiß es! Gepard, stimmt’s?😽 Scheint’s, da fehlen Buchstaben, um daraus »Gepard« zu bilden. Es muss ein anderes sein.😸 Ich weiß es! Im Griechischen sagt man »akin« und »onyx« – das bedeutet »unbewegliche Kralle« in unserer Sprache. Das Wort lautet: AKINONYX!😽 Swede, pass auf! Im Lateinischen schreibt man ACINONYX mit einem C.Sprach's und plötzlich schoss eine Flamme aus dem Boden, nur eine Krallenbreite fern von meiner Tochter. O weh.😸 Ich Trottel! Die dreischwänzige Bestie von Caledonia – Teil 15🕖Wir beschlossen, die Kiste zu öffnen – ganz gleich irgendwie. Jede Gefahr nahmen wir auf uns, um herzugelangen; nun wollten wir sehen, für was wir uns den Ar... den Arm aufgerissen haben. Ob Jaspers Buch helfen konnte, die Kiste aus dem Feuer zu bekommen? Ein letztes Mal durchsuchten wir alle Seiten nach Hinweisen.Da stand geschrieben: »In den Spuren der starren Kralle sollst du wandeln!«Aber was mochte das Bedeuten? War’s wörtlich zu nehmen? War’s eine Metapher? Glaubte man den Zeichnungen, musste es wahrhaftig etwas mit Krallen zu tun haben. Und war die Zeichnung einigermaßen getreu, waren’s Krallen der Katzenart, jedoch schien Jasper keine Lösung für’s dritte Rätsel gefunden zu haben. Drei ??? waren selten die Lösung für ein Rätsel. Und so verfielen wir in eine nachdenkliche Stille.Wisst ihr denn, was zu tun ist?🇬🇧The three-tailed beast of Caledonia - Part 15🕖We decided to open the chest - no matter what it would take. We defyed every danger to get here; now we wanted to see what we ripped our a... our arm off for. Could Jasper's book help get the treasure chest out of the fire? We searched all pages for clues one last time.It was written: "You shall walk in the footsteps of the rigid claw!"But what did that mean? Was it to be taken literally? Was it a metaphor? If we believed the drawings, it really had to have something to do with claws. And if the drawing was fairly true, it was the cat's claws, but Jasper didn't seem to have found a solution to the third riddle though. Three ??? were seldom the solution to a riddle. And so we fell into a pensive silence.What should we do? Die dreischwänzige Bestie von Caledonia – Teil 14🕡Stufe für Stufe stiegen wir den Bergfried hinauf; je schneller das Herz schlug, desto langsamer gingen wir voran. Niemand sprach mehr, nur der schwere Atem war zu hören, von Aufregung ausgestoßen, kurz und flach wie das letzte bisschen Mut in unserer Brust.Wir durchschritten die Pforte ins Innere - da war steinernes Gemäuer, Nischen zu jeder Himmelsrichtung und jene Höhlung, von Licht durchflutet. Wir traten immer weiter hinein, geleitet vom Lichtschein. Und plötzlich fanden wir es: Da stand eine hölzerne Kiste in der Morgensonne, umfasst von unzähligen Lohen.Wer sich der Kiste nahte, der sah, wie die Flammen aus dem Boden schlugen und zu dreifacher Größe anwuchsen – nein auf diese Weise würden wir nicht an die Kiste gelangen. Aber wer sagte eigentlich, dass wir zu der Kiste gelangen wollten? Wusste denn jemand, was darin zu finden war, das die Mühen lohnte?🇬🇧The three-tailed beast of Caledonia - Part 14🕡Step by step we climbed the keep; the faster the heart beat, the slower we went.
