Nach so viel Badespaß mussten wir uns erst einmal stärken – ich rief die Kinder herbei. Wer wollte, durfte im Sand des Strands hocken; alle anderen sich auf der Sandbank Platz niederlassen. Rasch waren die Tellerchen verteilt, die Tässchen ausgegeben und das Fresschen aufgetischt. Nein, heute gab es keinen Sandkuchen, heute gab es frische Himbeeren. Zu diesem Zwecke schlich sich Swede in die Tasche und ließ sich zum Bäcker tragen, um dort etwas von den Leckerbissen abzubekommen. Sonntag! Am Sonntag gibt es bei uns eine wichtige Tradition: Frühstück. Also ich meine ein richtiges Frühstück mit Croissants und Marmelade und Kaffee und Ei und mit extraviel Zeit dafür. Und wenn es so richtig dekadent sein soll, wird das Frühstück auch gerne mal in ein Café verlegt – so wie heute.In so einem Café bekommt man alle Zutaten schon geschnitten und artig portioniert vorgesetzt; man muss also nichts weiter tun, als die Brötchen nach Laune zu belegen. Genau hier komme ich ins Spiel, denn keine belegt Brötchen zu gut wie ich.Wenn ihr wollt, setzt euch dazu. Sagt, was ihr essen wollt, und ich belege euch das Brötchen.🇬🇧Sunday! Sonntag. Ausschlafen. Aufwachen. Umdrehen. Weiterdösen. Sonntage können so schön sein. Aber sie sind auch anstrengend, wenn die Kinder kurz nach dem Sonnenaufgang aus dem Schlaf fallen und beschäftigt werden wollen, ja beschäftigt werden müssen, ehe sie sich selbst eine Beschäftigung suchen, die von solch zweifelhafter Artung wäre, dass Kinder, weil sie plötzlich ganz still sind, auf die Frage, was sie denn gerade täten, nur mit »Nichts. Gar nichts« antworten. Und das kann alles bedeuten: Angemalte Tapeten, zerschnittene Tischdecken, verbrannte Teppiche.Zum Glück sind Swede und Mneka mittlerweile groß genug, um allein auf die Straße zu gehen; so sollten sie zum Bäcker laufen, etwas zum Frühstück kaufen und den Tisch decken. Wenn das getan wäre, sollten sie uns wecken.Und so kam es nun, dass wir zum Frühstück die buntesten Teller und Kuchen statt Brötchen aufgetafelt bekamen. Aber nun ist es angerichtet – euch einen schönen #PlushieSundayBreakfastClub.🇬🇧Sunday. Sleep in. Awake. Turn around. Snooze on. Sundays can be so beautiful. But they are also tiring when the children wake up just after sunrise and want to be busy, well, have to be busy before they find themselves an occupation of such dubious nature which makes children - because they suddenly become quite quiet - answering "Nothing" when asked what they are doing right now. And that can mean anything: painted wallpaper, cut tablecloths, burnt carpets.Luckily, Swede and Mneka are old enough to go out by themselves. I asked them to go to the bakery, buy something for breakfast and set the table. When that was done, they should wake us.And so it happened that we were served the most colorful plates and cakes instead of rolls for breakfast. Sonntag. Was tut man an einem Sonntag? Nicht was ihr schon wieder denkt, nein, man macht einen Sonntagsausflug zum nächsten Eisladen. Der Nächste muss freilich nicht der Nächstbeste sein, nein, man kann auch dorthin gehen, wo einem das Eis am besten schmeckt. Und das haben wir getan.Ich könnte Namen nennen, aber das wäre Werbung. Und solange ich mein gespartes Taschengeld für Eis ausgeben muss, anstatt das Eis geschenkt zu bekommen, solange kann ich keine Eisladennamen nennen. Natürlich ist es unsinnig, da es nur hier Stachelbeereis oder Quark mit Leinöl oder Nougat-Banane oder Gurkeneis gibt.'s ist ja ohnehin kein Geheimnis: Nur hier, in Burg, bekommt man bei drei Kugeln im Becher ein 4-Gänge-Menü mit Dessert. Das trifft sich gut, denn heute ist ja auch #PlushieSundaeBreakfastClub und #PlushieSundayBreakfastClub.🇬🇧Sunday. What do we do on a Sunday? Nooo, it's not like that! I mean a Sunday trip to the nearby ice cream store. Of course, it's also allowed to go where the ice cream tastes best instead of heading to the next best. And that's what we did.I could name the ice cream store just to let you know, but that would be advertising. Well, as long as I have to spend my pocket money savings on ice cream instead of getting the ice cream for free, I can't name ice cream stores here. Even though it's quite nonsensical, since this is the only ice cream store to sell gooseberry ice cream or quark with linseed oil or nougat banana or cucumber ice cream.It's not much of a secret anyway: only here, in Burg, can you get a 4-course meal with dessert within your three balls of ice cream. Long time no see. Ich erzählte ja neulich von unserem großen Umzug, wobei das Wort »Umzug« ein mittelgroßer Euphemismus ist, der bloß verschleiern soll, welchen Strapazen wir ausgesetzt waren. Denn jener Umzug, vom da die Rede, war nicht bloß ein Katzensprung von einem Ort zum anderen. Nein, der lange Weg war in etwa vergleichbar mit den Wegen der Pilgerväter auf ihrer Reise in die Neue Welt. Wahrlich, die Reise war so lang, dass mancher behaupten würde, wir wohnten nun in einem ganz anderen Land. Und so waren die letzten Tage geprägt von viehischer Arbeit – Küchebauen, Schränke aufstellen, Kartons leerräumen, Steckdosen anschließen, einfach alles. Die grausamen Bilder erspare ich euch, denn kein Plüschie sollte jemals so hart arbeiten müssen. Niemals.Aber jedes Martyrium findet sein Ende, und so fanden wir endlich mal wieder Zeit für ein ausgedehntes Frühstück mit allerlei Leckerlis – Kaffee, Brötchen, Ei, Honig. Once I told you about our big move, though the word "move" being a medium-sized euphemism intended to obscure the hardships we were subjected to. Because the move we're talking about wasn't just a short hop from one place to another. No, no, no, the long way was roughly comparable to the paths of the pilgrims on their journey to the New World. Trust me, the journey was so long that some would say we were living in a completely different country. So the last few days have been characterized by brutal work - building a kitchen, setting up cupboards, emptying boxes, connecting sockets, everything. I'll spare you the gruesome pictures, because no plushie should ever have to work that hard. Never.But every martyrdom comes to an end; we finally found time for an extensive breakfast with all kinds of treats - coffee, rolls, eggs, honey. Heute ist Sonntag! Ihr wisst, was das bedeutet – für unsere neuen Bewohner Pogo und Harmony bedeutete es zunächst eine Fahrt zum Bäcker. Swede bot sich als Begleitung an, denn alles ist neu für die zwei und ungewohnt und gewiss auch beängstigend. Da ist es gut, wenn jemand bei den zweien ist, der vertraut ist mit der Umgebung und dem Treiben hier.Zur Belohnung für so viel Mut gab es einen riesigen Cappuccino und ein fettes Stück Erdbeerkuchen für alle, die dabei sind beim #PlueschtierSonntagsFruehstuecksClub.
