Because of their 1500 followers, @jjdrawss started a #DTIYS challenge, and I'm in. Of course, the interpretation is quite special and like every time I'm not sure whether I was able to complete the task, but today I had to work under difficult conditions - while my hyooman was pampering the flowers, I sat at the camping table and colored. Yes, outdoors. At 35°C in the shade of a birch and a generally not unpleasant wind, the watered paper dried faster than I could soak it; the color gradients turned out accordingly rough. What worked well in the last drawing couldn't work this time. However, all in all I kinda like it.Why there's a cheetah hanging on the moon is something the viewers have to figure out themselves. Why the moon is so spotty, and literally cheesy, is something the viever has to answer for himself as well. Why the moon has a string of lights is probably unknown. Maybe... yes, maybe the man in the moon is just a little cheetah who likes to have a party up there.Thanks for the fun #DTIYS, although the result unfortunatelly isn't one of my best works. I know my contribution came three days late, but I found @tiarainfall’s #DTIYS challenge just one day before the deadline. Too late. Nevertheless, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to try my hand at this wonderful motif, even though the execution is way beyond my current watercolor skills.So I reduced the level of realism a little, at the same time I interpreted the drawing a little differently - I call it »Nightfall«. You can see two opposing cheetahs, and the upper one - the darkness - breaks over the light cheetah, just as the light cheetah will break over the dark cheetah the other day. As it has been since the beginning of time.In retrospect, I would have made the yellow of the sun more reddish, more sunset like, so the white of the tear stripes of the light cheetah could have faded into the bright sun like yellow as the tear stripes of the night cheetah could have faded from the black into the purple of the night. So the symbolic merging of day into night would have been clearer. The incredible @momiji95 recently started a #dtiys challenge, and because the subject strolled along somewhere in my comfort zone, while it seemed somewhat doable, I thought: let's give it a try.As you can imagine it wasn't a tiger, but I tried to create a similar perspective for the cheetah with an equal level of fluffyness. Some things worked out well, some things didn't - when I colored the cheetah's pupils, I noticed how big, yeah, too big they were. In the sketch it looked kind of cute, but finally coloured it seemed like having too much of belladonna. In fact, the drawing came out quite promising meanwhile, but the sharp outlines don't forgive any wrong stroke - at that point I should have deviated from the given motif and drawn less dark, perhaps fewer lines. Maybe next time.However, at my current skill level this is, what I can do with the watercolors. Mneka rückte den großen Tisch zum Fester für mehr Licht, Swede udn Dusk halfen, damit der Tisch auch richtig laut über den Boden holperte. Als das getan, besah sich Mneka das Bild, besah sich Muscheln, probierte ein wenig, ließ sich Klebstoff bringen und begann, das Bild mit Muschelschalen zu verzieren, die sie tags zuvor am Strand sammelte.Aaaaha.Sofort waren Swede und Dusk zur Stelle, wollten helfen, durften helfen: Swede durfte Kleber verteilen, Dusk durfte die Muscheln auf das Bild setzen, stets gestreng nach den Weisungen der kleinen Mneka-Maus.Aber was kam dabei heraus? Während unseres Ostseeurlaubs – es war gerade Mittagspäuschen – schnappte ich mir die Bleistifte und skizzierte ein wenig herum. Inmitten der höchsten Zeichenwonne kam Mneka herbei und hatte eine Bitte: Ich sollte ihr einen Geparden malen. Ein gewöhnliches Portrait sollte es sein, aber der skizzierte Gepard sollte auch hier und da Mulden und Wölbungen und Dellen haben. Sie wollte nicht verraten, wozu all das diente. Nein, sie wollte es so haben, und ich sollte es nach ihren Anweisungen machen. Und kolorieren sollte ich es freilich auch, stets gestreng nach den Weisungen der kleinen Maus.Am Ende aller Bemühungen gab es einen Kuss, und fort war sie. Mit dem Bild.🇬🇧During our vacation at the Baltic Sea - it was just a short lunch break - I grabbed the pencils and sketched a bit. In the midst of the supreme drawing bliss, Mneka came over and had a request: I should paint her a cheetah. It should be a random cheetah portrait. Hallo ihr Lieben, hier ist Swede. Eigentlich wollte euch Juba vom Waldspaziergang erzählen, aber das kann er nicht, denn er hat Instagramverbot. Und damit es eine richtige Strafe wird, habe ich ihn nach oben in sein Zimmer geschickt. Ja, ihr habt richtig gehört!Was passiert ist, fragt ihr?Als wir vom Spaziergang zurückwaren, hat Juba beschlossen, noch ein wenig zu malen. Das wisst ihr noch gar nicht - er hat vor zwei Tagen diese supercoole Gepardin gezeichnet. Jetzt wollte er sie ausmalen, und ihm fiel nichts Besseres ein, als es mit Wasserfarben zu machen. Aber er hat das noch nie gemacht. Er dachte nun, wenn er sich zwei Videos dazu ansieht, wüsste er, was er tut. Ich habe ihm gesagt, er solle lieber die Stifte nehmen, weil es total schade wäre, wenn es mit den Farben nicht funktioniert, außerdem hat er noch nie einen Pinsel gesehen.Aber Juba blieb dabei.Und am Anfang hat er das echt gut gemacht – das mit dem Wasser und Mischen und so. Ich war total erstaunt. Aber dann wollte er die Punkte und Linien malen, mit einem Pinsel, der viel zu dick war, so wie die Linien. Juba wurde darüber so wütend, dass er den Pinsel fortgeworfen hat. Mann, war der sauer. Ich wollte ihn trösten, und da habe ich zu ihm gesagt, dass er besser Buntstifte genommen hätte. Leider. Plötzlich hat er mich angeknurrt, weil er so verärgert war. Das hat mich erschrocken. Juba war dann auch erschrocken – mit Tränen in den Augen kam er auf mich zu und entschuldigte sich. Das wollte er nicht. Immer wieder sagte er, wie leid es ihm tut. Ich habe ihm gleich verziehen, aber er wollte die Verzeihung nicht. Er wollte, dass ich ihn bestrafe, denn das war unverzeihlich.Also habe ich ihn auf sein Zimmer geschickt.Nach einer Stunde wollte er wieder herunterkommen - er kam er mit hängendem Kopf und einem Blatt Papier im Maul an, gab mir das Blatt und sagte, dass ich Recht hatte. Deshalb hat er etwas gemalt – nur für mich und mit nur einem Stift, ganz im Stil eines Comics. Das hat er zwar auch noch nie gemacht, aber wollte es wenigstens versuchen. Für mich.Das bin ich.
