Gestern war ich in einem Streit mit meiner kleinen Swede verfangen – nichts Wildes, aber nicht minder vehement. Sie behauptete doch, wir würden im Schlosspark ganz bestimmt Frühlingsblümchen finden. Und ich sagte ihr, es wäre noch zu früh für Frühblüher; es gäbe noch keine. Sie sagte: „O doch!“ Ich sagte: „O nein!“ Sie meinte: „Doch!“ Und ich so: „Nein!“ Sie wieder: „Dohooch!“ Ich: „Nein!“ Sie: „Wohl!“ Ich so: „Eher nicht!“ Und sie sagte: „Doch, hier sind welche…“Meine kleine Swede hatte also Recht. Sonne. Sooonne. Endlich Sonne. Wir mussten nicht lang überlegen; wir ließen uns in die Menschensiedlung fahren, um den dortigen Schlosspark unsicher zu machen. Wobei das auch nur so dahingesagt ist, denn wo immer wir gehen und stehen und sitzen, verbreiten wir nur wenig Schrecken. Mehr als ein »o, wie niedlich« bekommen wir nur selten zu hören. Was zum… Könnt ihr euch das vorstellen? Könnt ihr? Könnt ihr das? Da saß der also auf unserem Stein… Auf unserem Stein saß der da. Was? Ihr wisst noch gar nicht, um was es geht? Kann es sein, dass ihr mir gar nicht zuhört?Also nochmal: Swede und ich liefen die übliche Dorfrunde, denn täten wir’s nicht, würde bald jeder dahergelaufene Tunichtgut dahergelaufen kommen und unsere Ländereien annektieren. Das darf nicht sein! Drum liefen wir die große Runde, langten an den Felsen an, und da saß dieser Tunichtgut auf unserem Lieblingsfelsen. Freilich hätte er jeden anderen Felsen besetzen können, aber nein, er nahm sich unseren Stein zum Daraufherumhocken. Frechheit!Sofort lief ich hin, um den Tunichtgut zur Rede zu stellen – freilich nahm sich das Zurredestellen weniger furchtlos aus, als es den Anschein macht, trotz und allem fragte ich, was das Steinbesetzen zu bedeuten habe. Und wisst ihr, was jener Tunichtgut erwiderte? Er sagte: Was geht’n?🤔🤨🇬🇧What the... Can you imagine, Swede and I walked the same ole paths around the village, because if we didn't, every ne'er-do-well that ran along would soon come running along and annex our lands. This may not happen! So we started our trip, got to the top of the hill, right to the rocks, and right there this ne'er-do-well was sitting on our rock. On our rock. He could have occupied any other, but no, he took our rock to perch on. Impudent.I immediately ran to confront the ne'er-do-well - admittedly the confrontation was less fearless than it appears, despite I asked what the occupation of the rock was about. Eigentlich ist ein Wochenende ja dafür da, um sich zu erholen. Das gilt besonders für uns Plüschies, die wir tagein, tagaus herumliegen und niedlich aussehen müssen. Stress pur! Da ist ein Wochenende umso wichtiger, bei dem man einfach mal nichts tun muss – einfach nur herumliegen und niedlich aussehen. Das versteht ihr sicherlich.Aber Wochenende heißt hier manchmal auch, in Geschäften herumzulaufen und Dinge zu kaufen. Normalerweise ist diese Einkauferei für uns von nur geringem Belang, allerdings sollte heute eine Couch gekauft oder zumindest ausgesucht werden. Eine Couch! Einen Einkauf von solcher Tragweite durften wir nicht allein unseren Menschen überlassen, denn – ich sagte es – besteht unser halber Lebensinhalt darin, herumzuliegen und niedlich auszusehen. Darum ist es überlebenswichtig, auf die richtige Form und Farbe einer Couch zu achten.Und also probierten Swede und ich ungeführ 200 Sofas und Sessel aus, um das passende Sitzmöbel zu finden. Meine Aufgabe ist es, die heutige Donut-Backerei zu überwachen und zu qualitätsprüfen. Das Problem: Ich habe nirgendwo Qualität gefunden. Zucker war da, keine Frage. Auch Mehl und Eier und Schokolade. Aber Qualität? Ich hoffe, ihr schmeckt sie heraus, diese Qualität, auch wenn ich nicht weiß, was das ist. Denn ich überwachte die Teigdicke, die Ölkerntemperatur, das Schokoladenvolumen, die Streuseldichte, das Abtropfverhalten und die Aushärtungsperformanz.
