Heute waren wir an einem kleinen Hafen ganz in der Nähe. Wer an Häfen denkt, denkt womöglich an riesige Kais und Schiffe und Kräne und containergroße Ladungen. Das ist hier nicht so. Der Kai ist eigentlich eine Treppe und die Schiffe sind eher Kähne und Kräne- Kräne gibt es keine; allenfalls Kraniche. Sehr seltsam. Es scheint, als dienen die flachen Kähne nur dazu, Zweibeiner umherzufahren, die – und davon verstehe ich was – wohl Angst vor dem Nasswerden haben. Man könnte also sagen, es ist weniger ein Hafen als ein Bahnhof. Nein, ein Kahnhof.

Today we were at a small port next to the stone snake I showed you once. When you think of ports, you probably think of huge quays and ships and cranes and container-sized cargo. That's not the case here. The quay is actually a staircase and the ships are more like barges and cranes- well, there aren't any cranes; possibly cranes - i mean the birds. Very strange. It seems as if the flat boats are only for driving around humans who - and I'm an expert - are probably afraid of getting wet. So I would say it's less of a port and more of a train station. No, a lane station. Nuh, this pun doesn't work out in English.
